Daniel worked in 1998 in the Space Industry and the air traffic management for a distributed system project with life safety constraints. He acquired for this project a system programming expertise. He joined IBM in 2004 to implement the linux container technology upstream. He is the author of the Linux Containers tools (lxc) widely used for its lightweight virtualization and the resource management as an alternative for kvm, especially for the cloud. In 2012, he joined Linaro as specialist for the power management, he works on the cpuidle framework and different area related to the power management. He did several presentations concerning optimizing cpuidle, measuring the idle times, identifying the sources of wake up and integrating the cpuidle framework with the scheduler. He is the maintainer of the cpuidle drivers for ARM and the clockevents drivers.
